Soon you’ll be able to legally import a Ramcharger from Mexico.
I would need to go through the absolutely ridiculous process of converting to 4wd, but holy hell am I looking forward to owning one!!!
So much room inside
Personally, I think GM missed out on a TON of sales by not putting the GMT800 2 door into production.

Agree - I like both of them. I’m sure GM’s logic was that people could just buy a Tahoe instead and have the extra utility of four doors.

Nice looking vehicle! If you ever take one of our trucks can you promise to keep it in non-stupid units of measurment?
You will be tempted to convert it to mph (since its probably a parts bin special) but keep it in kilometres and surprice those who notice your speedo goes to 200!

I’m personally more excited for a 4-door Ranger eventually.
Mexico got some really cool stuff.

Do those come in 4x4?

File this under things I’ve forgotten about and probably shouldn’t have been reminded of because dammit, I really want one too.

I didn’t even know that was a thing!
We’ve been refreshing an 85 Ramcharger (cut and replace the rotten panels, new bumpers/seals, cleaning up the tarnished stainless moldings), and I’ve been slowly falling in love with it.
As for the 4WD conversion, would it be easier to buy a shortbed 4wd pickup with a rotten body and drop the Ramcharger body on the pickup frame? I’m assuming that’s the frame/wheelbase they used for the Ramcharger.

I have an idea..
1. Buy a ram charger
2. Buy a rolled 2500/3500 Ram Cummins
3. Remove pickup body and shorten frame
4. Swap ram charger body onto shortened pick up frame
5. Be coolest cat in town
(not sure if swapping bodies or drivelines would be easier)

er, we’ll have one later this year :p

I think the deal was they were already at capacity building and selling the more expensive 4-door Tahoes. The entire reason GM killed the B-body platform, was they wanted the plant so they could build more 4-door Tahoes. They were selling every single one of those things that they could screw together.

Woah! I had no idea this was a thing. Looks like a two-door Durango.
I wish 2-dr SUV’s were more common.

I really wish they’d have Bronco’d, Blazer’d, or -charger’d all the full size trucks all these years. Not a huge fan of the current designs and for an off-road rig I’d rather something old/cheap enough that I can ignore light body damage... Especially now that I live somewhere it rains a lot, since these are more practical than trucks, jeeps, and the bigger SUVs. I wanted one for a desert expedition I wanted to do years ago that never happened, too (probably isn’t possible anymore for some reason).

I still want a ‘90s 2 door Tahoe/Yukon. Full size 2 door SUVs are cool. I kick myself for not keeping my ‘85 Ramcharger. My ‘89 Blazer was a steaming pile of poo (to be fair, it was purchased in steaming pile of poo condition).
That Ramcharger looks cool from the front 3/4, it loses a little of its appeal with the rear 3/4 picture. The GMT800 looks awesome. I would’ve bought one.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up too high about importing one of those. I don’t think they sold in huge numbers, and they did not live easy lives. I live on the border and I haven’t seen one of those on the road since George W was in office, and I haven’t seen one in good shape since his first term.
You might spend a very long time finding one worth importing. It would be way cheaper and easier to fabricate a clone from a short bed/regular cab, a camper shell with a bedrug, and the backseat from a caravan.

I saw one of those in south Texas one time, I was utterly bewildered by the site. Should’ve taken a picture but I was either too bewildered or I was just hauling ass in the M3, the latter is probably the reason.

But it won’t be like that.

Are any diesel? I knew about them, but only that they existed.

I can already import the one I want from Mexico.
1992 Chrysler Phantom R/T
That’s right! A LeBaron with the same R/T motor from a Spirit R/T. Good luck finding one that hasn’t been driven into the ground.
